Tijdens North Sea Round Town brengt SUBOTSKY nieuw werk live naar het podium. De Rotterdamse band werkte het afgelopen jaar vanuit Batavierhuis aan nieuw materiaal en live video’s voor toekomstige releases. Met Helene Matthia (zang), Cengiz Arslanpay (modulaire synths, zurna), Dean Montanaro (bas) en Philipp Ernsting (drums) ontstaat een genre-overstijgende mix van unclassified garagefolk en buitenaardse grooves. Invloeden uit onder meer Turkije, Duitsland en Malta lopen door de collectief geschreven composities heen, waarin vrije en gestructureerde elementen voortdurend naast elkaar bestaan.

During North Sea Round Town, SUBOTSKY brings new work live to the stage. Over the past year, the Rotterdam-based band developed new material and live videos from Batavierhuis for upcoming releases. With Helene Matthia (vocals), Cengiz Arslanpay (modular synths, zurna), Dean Montanaro (bass) and Philipp Ernsting (drums), the band creates a genre-crossing mix of unclassified garagefolk and otherworldly grooves. Influences from Turkey, Germany and Malta run through the collectively written compositions, where free and structured elements continuously exist side by side.

North Sea Round Town (NSRT) en het Batavierhuis slaan de handen ineen om een reeks concerten te presenteren. De serie toont het veelzijdige karakter van de Batavieren en hun nieuwste projecten. Van schurende jazz tot kleine liedjes, van folk tot pop, van neo klassiek tot improv. De concerten vinden plaats in het monumentale Batavierhuis aan de Coolhaven én op verschillende locaties verspreid door de stad.
