Aura Rascón & Shabbir Hussain

Experience an evening of Hindustani classical music, North India’s oldest and expressive musical tradition. Centered around the soulful sound of the bansuri flute, (the ancient Indian bamboo flute) the performance explores the beauty of ragas — melodic frameworks designed to evoke different moods, emotions, and times of day through improvisation and intricate musical dialogue. Accompanied by the rhythmic artistry of the tabla, the concert weaves together melody and percussion with high contrasts going from deeply meditative moods to uplifting rhythmical intensities.
