Christine Cornwell is an artist and facilitator based in Rotterdam with a diverse portfolio of socially engaged and collaborative projects. Her approach connects free improvisation and artistic research which is centred around listening for (unexpected) connections and spaces where co-creation can be nurtured.
She founded Stichting Art that Listens in 2024, which is an umbrella for ongoing projects Book of Premonitions, Sounding Here and SamenKlanken. She is proud to be part of the co-composition artistic research and commissions with artist Dr. Adriana Minu (RO/UK) including a commission at the Nadar Ensemble’s Summer School(BE), at Gaudeamus Muziekweek(NL), Warsaw Autumn, HCMF (UK), and De Singel Antwerp(BE).
As a facilitator and practitioner, Christine engages in inclusive research and supports initiatives which propose alternative futures for artists and society in cooperation with local and international grassroots and activist networks.
Since 2025 Christine coaches, performs, and creates at inclusive Theater Babel in Rotterdam.
Christine is currently hosting a mutual care support group based on radical forms of collective care for creative people. This group currently meets at the Batavierhuis every Tuesday evening. If you are interested, feel free to contact Christine!
