Eskild Okkenhaug is a bassist, arranger and composer based in Trondheim, Norway. Okkenhaug is a versatile musician that is involved in a vast range of projects. He plays everything between traditional jazz to hip hop in bands such as Eskild Okkenhaug Sekstett, We Take Requests Trio, Isabelle Eberdean and ART // Aksel Rønning Trio.
With a firm eye towards the tradition of both jazz and classical music, Okkenhaug draws particular inspiration from the music of Edvard Grieg, Duke Ellington, Oscar Peterson, Claude Debussy and Vijay iyer. His unique musical ideas and a solid craft for his instrument provides him with excellent professionality and creativity to the bandstand. This vast taste of music is also what makes his musical voice so vibrant and fresh.
