Rituals of the Last Dawn

Rituals of the Last Dawn is the new collaborative work between Iranian composer and musician Saba Alizadeh and Italian experimental artist Pietro Caramelli, set to be released on vinyl by Karlrecords (Berlin) on March 20, 2026.

We live in an age where each dawn and dusk may be a beginning for some, an ending for others. This performance, like the album itself, is an offering to every sunrise that lifts us, every sunset that humbles us, and to all whose light was taken by war. At its heart, Rituals of the Last Dawn is a meditation on resonance, impermanence, and the act of listening as ritual.

Drawing from the worlds of electro-acoustic composition, ambient music, and experimental improvisation, the duo creates a deeply immersive sonic experience. Alizadeh-known for his haunting use of the kamancheh (Persian spike fiddle), electronics, and field recordings-intertwines his soundscapes with Caramelli’s textural explorations on prepared guitar, modular synthesis, and live processing.
Together, they weave a fragile yet powerful musical dialogue that blurs the line between composition and improvisation, human and machine, memory and presence. The result is an intimate and transformative performance where sound becomes space, and listening becomes a shared act of reflection.

For those unfamiliar with the artists, expect an evening of atmospheric, cinematic, and emotionally charged sound, where silence and resonance carry equal weight—inviting audiences to experience music not just as performance, but as ritual.
