Using acoustic and electronic instruments, these three protagonists of jazz-based improvisational music unfold a discourse on the possibilities of contemporary interplay within historical instrumentation. Concepts and ideas of diverse geographical and temporal origins are repurposed into novel organizing principles that enable the ensemble to harmonize seemingly disparate musical elements. Thus, delicate contrapuntal textures and dance-like polyrhythms effortlessly emerge alongside raw sonic towers, vehement chord clusters, and simple lyricism.
