De Regen Record is a one person underground label
founded by Pietro Frigato. The Label is focusing on experimental music
and improvisation. The label nights want to give space to improvised
music and to give a chance to the audience to meet the musicians in an
informal environment, browse and rummage through their releases and
merchandise and maybe find little treasures.
The first night will be fully acoustic, in the beautiful hall of
Batavierhuis: six musicians, three sets in three different formations.
During the evening it will be
possible to buy the merch from all the invited musicians and the label
itself.
Dorota Marföldi Matejová – flute
Bernat Boronat – Bass Clarinet
Luke {LISA} Deane – Piano
Christine Cornwell – Violin
Clara Torner – Cello
Lucija Gregov – Cello
Dorota Matejová is a traverso & wooden flutes player,
composer-performer, poet and educator. As a musician with
experimental, contemporary, early, improvised and club music
background, she has embodied all of these influences, while becoming
an experienced physical performer in music, theatre, dance and
interdisciplinary contexts, and creating music-movement-poetry
performances and encounters.
Bernat Boronat (Alzira-Valencia) is a clarinetist and improviser based
in Rotterdam, with a dedicated focus on exploring extended techniques
and new sounds within the bass clarinet and other non-conventional
instruments. In his solo work, Bernat pays attention to the inherent
qualities of the instrument, enabling them to unfold naturally through
assistance rather than rigid control.
Luke {LISA} Deane is a non-binary conceptual composer, experimental
vocalist and teacher. Whether in collaborations or through creating
new instruments or scores, Luke’s work illuminates self-expression
particularly through melody, while Lisa’s voice strikes a more
socio-political tone, raising questions about how we show or don’t
show our emotions.
Christine Cornwell is a composer-violinist-organiser based in
Rotterdam. Moving between performing and facilitating roles, she
steadily and collaboratively creates spaces for multiple perspectives
to be present. She plays with local bands across scenes and genres,
weaving noisy and timbral gestures into performances and spaces she
finds herself in. Christine is currently artist in residence at
Theater Babel.
Clara Torner (Barcelona, 1997) creates spontaneous sonic ecosystems on
a prepared cello, exploring memory and fragmentation. Her music spans
delicate, crystalline textures to energetic, unrestrained sounds,
often in collaboration with dance and visual arts.
Lucija Gregov is a cellist and improviser. She has been developing
projects and researching in the fields of classical music, electro
acoustic music, improvisation, experimental music, radio and sound
art. Through many interdisciplinary collaborations, Lucija seeks to
push the boundaries of traditional cello playing which further extend
her interpretation, technique and ideas.
