This edition of Worldsessions is led by Loek van den Berg.
Loek plays the saxophone and the duduk, and is best known for the Loek van den Berg Quintet, with which he has won several awards, including the Edison Jazz Award for Best Newcomer.
Loek has always had a fascination with musical styles beyond jazz, such as Armenian and Iranian folk music, as well as flamenco. During this Worldsessions, you’ll hear a blend of these influences come together in a unique mix.

During World Sessions, we pair young talent with well-known names from the scene and challenge them to create a special performance for the evening. After the concert, there will be a jam session where other musicians can showcase their skills on stage and network within the world music scene.

Deze editie van Worldsessions wordt geleid door Loek van den Berg. Loek speelt saxofoon en Duduk, en is voornamelijk bekend van het Loek van den Berg Quintet, waarmee hij verschillende prijzen binnensleepte, waaronder de Edison Jazz Award voor beste nieuwkomer. Loek heeft altijd een fascinatie gehad voor verschillende muzikale stijlen naast Jazz, zoals (Armeense en Iraanse) folkmuziek en flamenco.
