Rotterdam based guitarist Federico Castelli presents his new project “Flotsam”. This new band digs deeper into the realm of Americana, alt-country and surf music, mixed together with melodies inspired from the italian film music of Ennio Morricone to Tom waits.
Alongside Federico, the band features, David Gram on pedal steel and slide guitar, Mischa Porte on drums and bassist Alessandro Fongaro, long time associates and a fellow Batavier.
Castelli’s lyrical approach to guitar playing is now propelled forward into more folk-country atmospheres by Gram’s ethereal sound on the lapsteel. From the band you can expect a repertoire of twangy and singable guitar compositions as well as surf classics from the 60’.
