Three musicians perform together for the first time in an encounter shaped entirely by improvisation.
Milana Zarić is a creative musician, working in the fields of contemporary composition, free improvisation, experimental and trans-disciplinary practices. As former principal harpist of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, artistic director of Ensemble Studio 6, educator at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and initiator of international projects, she is establishing new bridges in collaborative creation. A composer and performer, she has premiered over 40 solo harp and ensemble works, combining her original instrument with voice, zither, percussion, electric harp and electronics.
Aurélie Nyirabikali Lierman is a composer, radio and vocal artist whose work has been described as bold, provocative and delicate. Fascinated by the narrative power of abstract sound and music, she often adds dramatic and documentary elements to a compositional structure. As main focus the (non) human voice, as well her many personally gathered field recordings from East-Africa. She collaborates with other artists in a variety of disciplines and fields, and has won many prizes at home and abroad. Lierman is appointed Aurality and Orality tutor for the MA Non Linear Narrative at KABK in The Hague.
Lucija Gregov is a cellist and improviser. She has been developing projects and researching in the fields of classical music, electro acoustic music, improvisation, experimental music, radio and sound art. Through many interdisciplinary collaborations, Lucija seeks to push the boundaries of traditional cello playing which further extend her interpretation, technique and ideas. Her instrumental cello practice is a starting point of the sonic exploration through which over time she disintegrated traditional techniques in order to discover a more personal and sincere sound aesthetic.
