Andrew Moreno and Lucija Gregov form a duo that explores improvisation as an adventurous way of thinking, playing, and listening to music. Last year, they recorded an album: an assemblage of improvisations captured on one sunny afternoon at Batavierhuis. There is a simplicity in the way they come together to play, without any musical parameters determined beforehand. Their music speaks powerfully through this simplicity, while at the same time inviting complexity through a delicate attention to detail. It’s like chamber music that gets complicated.
