Daniel Leenders

Daniel Leenders is a Dutch classical violinist with deep musical curiosity. He completed his Bachelor’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Peter Brunt, during which he also spent a semester at the Boyer College of Music in Philadelphia, studying with Eduard Schmieder. He went on to earn his Master’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Vera Beths.

As an orchestral musician, he gained early experience with the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands (2017–2019) and later joined the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester (2022–2023). Since 2021 he has performed regularly as a substitute with orchestras such as Kamerata Zuid, PHION, and the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. From 2025 to 2026 he is an academist with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra.

Chamber music is another big passion, and since 2022 he has been a member of the Damsco Quartet.

His artistry has been recognized at various national and international competitions, winning numerous prizes. As a soloist, he has performed with various orchestras. He has also taken part in masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Stephan Picard, Liviu Prunaru, Hagai Shaham, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Eszter Haffner, Ulf Wallin, Olivier Charlier, and Elena Vähälä.

Daniel plays with a bow made by Charles Bazin, on loan from the Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds.
